[Kenwood] New HF Kenwood at Tokyo Ham Fair 09

Turns out that is the K3 is their new design target for this radio.  Good 
eye.

Don N4KC talked to Kenwood at the Huntville hamfest in August, where he 
learned this original 570 replacement would be much more, targeting the K3.

I have to say, I'm disappointed in all the comments about the physical looks 
of the mockup on display.  A pretty radio does not necessarily receive 
better, have better audio, more versatility, etc.

It reminds me of the people who complain about the TS-2000's stingy S-meter. 
Apparently they don't care how good the receiver is, only how inflated the 
S-meter says the signal is.

What matters to me is the performance, and what Kenwood is saying is this 
new mid-range HF transceiver will be a huge performer at a really good 
price.

Kenwood says they will bring out a second, high-end HF radio once this 
570/K3 is done.  It will probably cost about twice the price, but maybe it 
will have a nicer physical design.
