Hi Guys,
I am at a loss on the Kenwood TS-950SDX....
Me and my friend, Matt AC8AC, we put a new Variable Cap in the VCO 1 Box,
which is infamous for the oxidation issue. I bought the part from Miles at
AES... Tapped on that VCO 2 Unit with my and it was really made the radio
crazy. Matt Removed that VCO 2 unit from the main board, and found like 8
cold solider joints on the board. Not to mention the ones where the actual
VCO 2 units metal casing attaches to the board itself...
I thought we fixed it, and it is STILL freakin' screwed up.... Symptoms:
Turn rig on and RX and TX is fine, lasts about 15 minutes and the RX and TX
both sound like their underwater.
Its got to be something simple and stupid.... Anyone know what this could
be... I'll do anything, hell, I'll even video the radio with the sounds that
it is making.... It's got to be heat related, because if I TX, it gets
worse....
Anyone had this problem before?
Thanks,
-Chuck Adkins K8CPA
