Ooops, you're so right!  Thanks, I'd missed the small print.  I went to the Kenwood website instead and didn't see anything about the old dual-banders, but I was reading the website on a handheld wireless device so perhaps it's there, too.  In any case, that's certainly an interesting development.  I have two G707s and a V7A.

Yes, it is advertising an add-on for APRS. Kenwood RC-D710 is according to the small print sentence, *"Compatible models in clude:....TM-V7A..." ETC.
