Maybe this has already been posted before; sorry if it's old news.

It seems quite a few people have been searching for the 3SK22 FET for
their T-599 or other Kenwood gear. I found one place that actually
has them in stock: Acme Sales in Orlando, FL.
(http://www.acme-sales.net) They sell many kinds of Japanese
components, mostly for TV repair.

I ordered some via phone last week and had them in 2 days via
Priority Mail. Price was $7.99 each.

The Kenwood T-599 uses both a 3SK22(G) and 3SK22(Y) in various parts
of the circuit. Toshiba's data sheet says that the suffix indicates
different values of Idss (drain current at zero volts
gate-to-source). Acme Sales does not offer them by specific suffix.
The parts I received were the Y suffix. I have not tried them out
yet, and do not know if there is any issue with using the Y version
where a G is called for. The DC biasing of the circuits might be
forgiving enough to let either type work. If you try it, please
consider posting your results to this reflector.

Hope this helps put a few more of the old Kenwoods back on the air.

Joe K9LY
