Good Morning -
I'd like to ask the list members help regarding a wiring issue with the
transceiver interconnect cable used on my T-599D / R-599D.
The transceiver cable I acquired had to be re-wired/re-soldered due to some
abuse/hacking from a previous owner.
I followed the info in the T-599D manual (page 20) as to which cable lead
would go to each connector pin.
As this is my first experience with the T-599D/R-599D twins, I had to assume
that each 16 pin connector was wired the same, pin-for-pin.
That is, for both connectors pin #1 goes to pin #1, #2 to #2, #3 to #3 etc.
Where I got stumped was when the manual indicated that pin #7 of T-599D is
UNUSED but IS used for the R-599D relay coil.
>From studying the schematics for both rigs, leaving pin #7 unused appears to
leave the R-599D relay coil with no ground connection.
Am I on the right track here?
With the cable connectors in their present wiring configuration, the R-599D
relay never activates (no speaker mute, etc.) on xmit.
Any help anyone can provide as to the CORRECT wiring of EACH transceiver
connector plug would be greatly appreciated.
Tnx & 73, Bill, w0ng
