[Kenwood] SM-220 issue had died via Paypal

About the only recourse you have now is to dispute the payment to your credit card company, unless you used a debit card to pay PayPal.  If that was the case, its over.  

Paypal protects the big seller (fees are their bread and butter, remember they are part of ebay).  They want to keep sellers selling, that is their #1 priority.
