[Kenwood] Noisy fan?

Hi Mike

1) Installation of the NF-R8 is easy, and no alterations are needed in the
Kenwood equipment I have. The most difficult fan to replace is the one under
the internal loudspeaker in the TS950SDX, which has no less than three fans.
This operation was done by a professional technician during a recent check
at a repair shop.
2) My TS850SAT, which has a low serial number, runs almost noislessly during
transmission and certainly much quieter than with the original fan. What you
hear is a very gentle and clean breeze with no mechanical resonans. The fan
is only activated during transmission, so this is another reason why you
tend to forget there is a fan in the TS850SAT.
3) For some reason or other the NF-R8 in the PS-53 sounds a bit louder
(possibly due to higher speed), but still it is much quiter than the
original one. Normally you won't notice it when it starts working. If you
use earphones, you will hear nothing.
4) Loudest of the threel is the TS950SDX, which is no wonder considering the
fact that it has three fans installed, and the heating is considerable in
this radio. Still it is quiter and thus more pleasant to operate than when I
bought it last month.
