[Kenwood] TS-530SP IF Alignment Question

Hello - 



I've been checking the alignment of my TS-530SP and have a question about step #12 in the service manual (IF AMP adjustment). 



Can someone advise exactly how to verify the "peak" position for xfmr's L2, L5, L6, L7, L8 and L10? 



The procedure in the service manual doesn't seem to work no matter how much signal I put into the antenna jack.
