[Kenwood] DIN plug pin numbering ???

The REMOTE connector in my TS-940s uses a 7 pin DIN plug.  I was hoping someone could help me understand the pin "numbering" sequence that this plug uses.

I'm using it to make an amplifier ALC/RELAY patch cable for my Kenwood TS-940s HF transceiver. The pin numbering sequence listed in the Kenwood manual is 6-1-4-2-5-3-7.

The diagram say that the pins are numbered this way when you "VIEW FROM CODE". I have never seen that expression before ??????????????

Any chance someone could please tell me when I'm looking at the "soldering-side" of the connector, how the pins are numbered?     73, Bill, w0ng
