Walt,

Also look at stores that sell O gauge, HO gauge, and other train parts, 
pieces, set, and scenery.  Those bulbs will "normally last for quite a 
bit.  Especially the ones that are used in the engine itself.  Thos get 
cycled on, off, and in between CONSTANTLY.  I've had engines for coming 
to almost 40 years that STILL work just fine.

Those should be MORE than adequate to light up a Kenwood meter or any 
other indicator.
