[Kenwood] Kenwood TS-940 PLL Issue

Hi,

 

I have discussed the issue with my Kenwood TS-940 not being able to tune before (dispalys blanks when the knob stops). Based on the suggestions of the group I have gotten down to the PPL board. I have removed the black spacer underneath the board. I have also went through and touched up the cold solder joints (and there were a lot of them - some of them really bad). I have not removed the potting on the top of the board. I have not gone and looked to see which PLL is bad since I am not sure you can run the radio with the microprocessor board disconnected (needed to get at the PLL board).

 

I am about ready to give up and let somebody else try. I have seen postings for people who will still repair a TS-940. Can somebody on the board tell me who they are so I can contact them.
