I acquired a TS-930S/AT awhile back and finally got it on the bench. I've invested 3-4 hours troubleshooting so far but have decided not to put any more time into this project. I'm sure that the radio is repairable but I have a bunch of projects in the pipeline and I had not planned on using this radio anyway.
The radio is S/N 307XXXX so it has the older style power supply section. The radio powers up and the 28.5 VDC is OK. I checked the DC regulators on the various boards and all seem to be working. Audio background hiss can be heard and the audio/IF functions work (notch, slope tuning). The radio beeps when various buttons are pushed (RIT clear, band selection, A=B VFO, etc.
There is nothing visible on the digital readout. This is usually a symptom of one (or more) of the PLL's being in an unlocked state. It tried the procedure to unblank the readout to try and troubleshoot further, but "no joy".
This appears to be a complete radio and is missing only the rear panel fan on the power supply section and the rubber finger grip on the main tuning knob. Also the memory backup battery holder has a broken corner and would need replacing.
If anyone is interested, I'll take best offer, plus shipping from 18951. If you want to see some pix of the radio, shoot me an Email and I'll send them out.
