Fw: [Kenwood] TS-2000LE value?

On another reflector, someone is selling a TS-2000LE for $1,850. To a
non-collector, that is probably about right. In addition to its black
color, it came with a VS-3 Voice synthesizer, DRU-3A Digital record unit and
the ARCP-2000 Radio control software. At GigaParts, I could get a new
(gray) TS-2000 with the above add-ons for $1,859. Yours is used, but it has
the black color, which I would pay a little more for.

However, to a collector who'd like to hang on to it for awhile, it is
probably worth more.

The only real way to find out what it's worth is to try to sell it and see
how much you can get.... I'd start on eham.net and QTH.com -- if that
didn't work, I'd put it on eBay with a reserve of at least $1,800 (probably
more) and a good sales pitch about how rare it is, and see what happens. If
you don't need the money right away, I would guess it will increase in value
after the TS-2000 goes out of production. Kenwood is dragging their feet on
bringing out their new HF rig, and I'd guess the TS-2000 will be produced
for another two years. Good luck.

Subject: [Kenwood] TS-2000LE value?

Hi,
I'm curious if anyone can tell me how much a TS-2000LE (the limited
edition black version) is worth? I've got one and I'm considering
selling it, but I'm not sure how much it's worth. There were only 300
available in the U.S., so it's fairly rare.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Scott, N9AA
