[Kenwood] Using a Vox and other things

Hopefully, in the next month or so, I will be doing some serious looking for
an Kenwood TS-830S Gold Series Xcvr.

I have a Kenwood TS-700A with the Vox-3.  Please excuse my question that may
be obvious to others.

Can you use the Vox-3 with the TS-830S?

Also,

At some point in my ham life, I would like to work with sattelites.

Could I use my TS-700A and a Kenwood R-599 receiver? What satellites would I
be expected to work with?

I have priced the new rigs and I just can't afford them.
