[Kenwood] TS-930 with Heil Pro-Set

Has anyone used the Heil Pro-Set with the 930? It is a purchase from 
an estate and came with the 8-pin plug. It does everything it is 
supposed to but the rig does not get enough audio drive from it 
compared to the MC-80. I can crank the mic gain up all the way on the 
rig and it does not even show any ALC.

I would guess that it is wired correctly or it would not work at all. 
Oh, it comes with the HC-4 which of course does not have the low 
response of the MC-80.

Any ideas?
