[Kenwood] TS-940 RX Audio Problem

I love  '940's.  I have 2 and a spare for parts. They are lovable boxes 
full of intermittants.  What I  would do is "beat" on the radio with my 
fist.  If I could make the audio (or any) problem change,  I'd remove 
the covers and find the audio board, in your case,  and gently tap 
around that board to see if I could get the intermittant to raise it's 
ugly head.  THEN I WOULD GET OUT MY DIGITAL CAMERA, AND TAKE PICTURES OF 
THE BOARD TO BE SURE I COULD GET ALL THOSE WIRES AND CABLES BACK WHERE 
THE BELONG.  Then remove the board and resolder all connections around 
the area where I thought the problem might be, reassemble and test.  The 
'940 is a super radio but is getting old.  Even the 20 million (last 
made) and 0 million (next to the last year made) are over 20 years old 
now, so you got to accept working on them now and then.  Good luck, Ron K6ZL
