[Kenwood] Kenwood TS940

I have a problem with the sub-display on my TS940sat... when I turn the radio on the display will not work . I have to push the reset button to make it work..
The manual said to turn the radio off and on to make it work.. I have turned it off and on at least 10 times and it still will not work..
It only comes up with garbage....I have also done a complete reset and that did not help...
>From what I read the backup battery has nothing to do with the sub-display........any help????? Danny...WA4SDE
