[Kenwood] Kenwood - Death of a Radio Company

I am not sure I understand the big concern. Amateur radio is NOT Kenwood's
only market. They have had HI-FI equipment longer than amateur equipment.
JVC is a large producer of HI-FI gear and they seem to be merging with
Kenwood. I just love it when something is in the news about Kenwood the
pessimists go crazy and they seem to think the sky is falling. Kenwood is
selling so many TS-2000's the dealers can't keep them on the shelves. When
they have a product that sells like that why would they want to invest in
something else at the time. Regardless to popular opinion Hams are there for
the manufacturers NOT manufacturers for the Hams. They will produce what
they believe will sell best for them. Seems like they have found that in the
TS-2000. I for one don't believe Kenwood is going anywhere, and they will
keep the TS-2000 coming till it slows in sales. Then and only then will you
see a new design for HF.

The Kenwood TM-V71A is getting rave reviews from owners.
Perhaps Kenwood has decided to focus their attention there
rather than the more costly and relatively small Ham HF market?
