I have just acquired an old TS 140s..all seems fine except the audio
distorts in both the internal speaker and with an external speaker when
the AF control is turned up anything over 50%! Is this normal?
The volume is by no means loud,(at the 50 % level) and any increase in the
volume control simply makes the distortion worse, rather than making it
louder..
Not having had this radio before.. I am not sure of the way it is supposed
to behave?
Any comments or suggestions?
These rigs should have clean crisp audio at higher volumes shouldn't they?
I have not checked any service bulletins etc yet...
Thanks,
Maurie. VK3CWB.
