[Kenwood] Oops

Well, I may have just screwed up.  Plugged my new 930 in and was 
about to hook up the antenna and noticed that the red transmit light 
was on.  Quickly turned off and I didn't notice any smoke or weird 
noises or anything but did I just screw up big time?

Second question.  Meter light at left side of display is on but the 
right half of display is black.  Could that be something not turned 
on properly or hooked up properly or maybe a light out?
