Last October I talked to the Kenwood manager of the Amateur Radio
product line in North America. I asked about D-Star. He mentioned
Kenwood was going to sell an ICOM D-Star rig in Japan with a Kenwood
label on it, but that he had no current plans to sell that in the North
American market. Kenwood is party to the D-Star technology and can
market it whenever and wherever it wishes.
I don't know what other markets this may be sold in, but in any case,
the RixPix photo is probably the ICOM radio with a Kenwood logo, not
something designed by Kenwood.
