Yes.  The switch is a royal pain.  You must reach behind the rig to
switch it in and out.  The switch is also a bone of contention since
inadvertently switching it in can make you think your receiver has died.

         Not so.  That switch is to switch the main
antenna to a separate receiver...i.e. the signal
path from the 940 antenna goes to the separate
RX instead of the 940.

         If you will simply read the manual, you will find
how to connect an external RX antenna using the Transverter
DIN connector.  It essentially breaks the internal signal
path and has an output and an input.  You can connect an RX
antenna to the input and (with a switch) also reconnect the
TX antenna to the input.
