it could be any number of things. perhaps he has a mic that pics up the low
frequencies. it wasn't noticed before because perhaps the kenwood tech.
moved the carrier set point closer to the filter skirt which would improve
the tx of low frequencies. there is a high boost button on the front panel
I believe and that will remove the low audio if i am not mistaken. he
should see if the problem is on only one sideband. if it is, then the cxr
is not situated in the right place with regard to the filter.

I have a friend that just got back a 850SAT from repair and now the audio on
transmit is very basey. Is there a adjustment for transmit tone on these?
