 > If you will simply read the manual, you will find
how to connect an external RX antenna using the Transverter
DIN connector. It essentially breaks the internal signal
path and has an output and an input. You can connect an RX
antenna to the input and (with a switch) also reconnect the
TX antenna to the input.

In the 930 Manual this is covered in Section 6
Remote Control Wiring. Pin 5 of the XVRTR connector
is for external RX antenna input and Pin 8 is the normal
RX signal path (Pin 3 is common GND). A simple SPST
switch on Pin 5 can be used to toggle between the
external RX input and the Main RX/TX antenna (Fig 6-6 in
the 930 Manual. The 940 works exactly the same but I
don't have a 940 Manual so the Section numbering could
be different.

One word of CAUTION: Be sure to use Kenwood
8 pin DIN plugs since not all 8 pin plugs are the
same. If you use one from Radio Shack, it will
badly mangle the female socket!

                                         73, Bill W4ZV

P.S. I've used Beverage inputs to my 930 since 1984
and the above works great.
