[Kenwood] When would RF damage issue be fixed by Yaesu?

There has been some discussion of a final RF stage
vulnerability to damage from a couple of events in
the 857 & 897.

When would Yaesu have started to routinely address
this as an automatic service visit upgrade?

If a rig went to Yaesu service in Dec. 2006 would it
have been addressed or was the problem and solution
only diagnosed in 2007?
