"UnDo" Adhesive Remover is a product I first heard about a few years ago, but I was only recently able to get a bottle.  It's formulated to make label/tape removal quite easy.  I had seen product demonstration videos where this stuff would even allow you to remove duct tape from toilet paper.  And, unlike most other products, this one leaves no odor (such as "orange", naptha (lighter fluid), or WD-40) or residue, though some might like the lingering smell of WD-40 <g>.

All you do is squirt some on the entire label (or a portion at a time on a *large* label), let it soak for about 10 seconds, and the adhesive is "deactivated".  At this point and until the "UnDo" fluid completely evaporates, you can lift the label off as it's not sticky.  Once the fluid evaporates, the adhesive "re-activates" and you can literally re-use the label.

With non-porous surfaces (such as shipping tape), squirt some on the edges and let it soak under the tape.  Then use the scrapper tool (included) to get "under" the tape and lift it off.  Squirt more fluid as you go along to keep the area "wet".

It was originally marketed to "craft" stores for hobbies such as scrapbooking.  None of the stores local to my area had it, but while visiting family in San Franciso, I passed by a scrapbooking store that had it - a 4 oz bottle was $7.95.  I've seen it for sale on-line, but most places want upwards of $20.00 for a 4 oz bottle!  I believe that's more than double SRP (might be due to the scarcity of the product).

Hmmm, just decided to Google "Undo Adhesive Remover" and the "Product search results" link comes up with a few on-line places that carry it - about $8 for 4oz and $20.00 will get you a 32oz bottle.

cabinet without destroying the paint? Actually, the tape curled up and
