[Kenwood] TH-G71, RIP

I don't think I've seen anything about this - I looked into buying another TH-G71 this week and found that they've been discontinued.  
The G71 is a pretty old radio - I don't remember how old; something like 1997ish?  However, it has very solid tx and rx, has great audio and for me at least is a "just right" compromise between the micro-HTs that have too many menus and too small buttons and the bigger HTs.  We like them well enough that we have three of them in the house.  They've given very good service and I expect they'll continue to do so for quite a number of years.  I'll be interested to see what, if anything, Kenwood brings out to replace the G71.
