The Kenwood software handles rig control, but you get to solve the 2-way 
audio problem yourself.  Most people use Skype, which is pretty good at 
negotiating through most firewalls without much help.  Alternatively, the 
ARHP-10 Help file briefly mentions to use theTAPI protocol and suggests 
Microsoft's NetMeeting (conf.exe) for that.  Either approach will do the job 
of providing 2-way audio communication between the remote PC and the PC 
that's running the 480.

 On the PC that is connected to your 480, you still need to connect the 
sound card's line-in and line-out to your 480's DIN jack.  The ARHP-10 Help 
file documents "Making the Voice Cable."

 By the way, if you often use your laptop's soundcard for "PC" functions 
like playing DVDs or MP3 files, you may want to get a 2nd soundcard -- an 
outboard USB-connected soundcard. Creative Labs makes several -- a high end 
model is the Audigy 2 NX, but also good is the Creative Labs Live! 24-bit 
External. This would allow you to set and forget sound levels.  Otherwise 
you'll find yourself  having to reset the levels each time you switch from 
PC functions to using  the 480 remote operating functions.

 So with the soundcard cable in place and Skype or NetMeeting, you should be 
good to go.
