[Kenwood] TS2K 220 Module

I guess I selected the wrong model no. for the suggestion. My AES 1996/1997
catalog shows a TM-642AD(2M & 220), TM-742A(2M & 440), and TM-942A(2M,440,1.2).
 
So in reality the TM-642AD AND TM-742AD are one in the same except for the bands
which means the 220m was issued as a stock band but with TM-642AD.
 
So I sure hope they're listening at Kenwood and put something together.

Bad example. The TM-742A never came stock with a 220Mhz module instead, it was
an
option and still is. I've owned 4 TM-741's, TM-941, TM-641, and 2 TM-742's,
still do
own most of them. This subject is approached at least once a year on nearly all
the
amateur related talkgroups. The manufacturers say it's arrogant of the U.S.
market
to think we dictate what the offshore manufacturers produce. Today's radios are
often built on a common hardware platform then outfitted with application
specific
firmware and features at as low a cost as they can. That means you may see a
Kenwood
amateur mobile or handhand that looks just like one of their commercial models
and
vice versa. There's alot more demand for VHF highband and UHF transcievers which
they say is why they offer so many of those. I use 220 and would love to see
more
gear offered just like I use 33cm and would love to see more gear offered for
that
as well.
