[Kenwood] TS2K 220 Module

Try and buy a TM-742A on the open market with 144m, 440m and 220m? Like Leo
said several emails ago "Kenwood should realize that a mobile with the same
construction as the THF6A would be a major home run.

Instead, they continue to bring out these 2m or 440 SINGLE band mobiles or once
in awhile a 144 an 440 dual band which the market is over saturated with.

Just my 2 cents

At last report the U.S. (which is the only mass 220Mhz amateur market)
represents only about 6% of their entire sales which time and again does not
justify the expense of producing such a module. The TM-331A/E was never updated
to the TM-341, 351, 361, or 371 like its single band brethren for the exact same
reason,
dwindling/insufficient market. The idea has been floated many times without
effect. Best to dramatically increase 220Mhz use and demand for gear will
automatically follow. Here in Southern CA. activity on that band is about half
of what it was a decade ago, i.e., it's getting worse not better and
manufacturers aren't
going to make gear for bands with decreasing activity.

the TS 2000 instead of 1.2 Ghz? It is simply a numbers game and I suggest any
TS 2000 owners interested drop them an email today requesting they produce a 220
Mhz module for the TS 2000 in addition to the 1.2 Ghz module they already have.
