[Kenwood] VS-1

I purchased a used VS-1 to use with my TS-940S.  After installation, it does speak a freq but the incorrect one.  It is approx 1KHZ low in frequency.  I assume this unit was programmed for a different kenwood rig.  Anyone have a suggestion, other than getting rid og it on how to get it re-programmed or fixed some other way?
