[Kenwood] Replacement batteries-Quality?

I had to replace the batteries on my TH79A also and bought them at a hamfest
(for a discount of course). Just looked at the battery and it is a NiMH
from W&W but I bought them form one of the hamfest battery people. Don't
remember for sure which one. I think it was the "Ni-Cad Lady"
www.nicdlady.com. She is cheaper online than Batteries America
www.batteriesamerica.com but both have what you want. Seems like her online
price is about $2 or so higher than what she was at the hamfest but that was
a couple of years ago too. I agree with sticking with the NiMH. $35 for
9.6v at 600 mAh and $38 for 9.6v at 1100 mAh.

Warren,
Stick with NiMH batteries. Both Multiplier and W&W have good products, and
can be purchased from TESSCO.

Hello:
I have a Kenwood TH-79A and am in need of some new batteries for it.
The real McCoy PB-32 packs have a big price and are discontinued from
Kenwood, some are still available but they must have been sitting on the
shelf. Don't think it is good to buy an old Nicd pack that has been sitting
around. There are several after-market clone packs and the price is all
over the place, some are Nicd and some Nimh. Have you had any good
experience with aftermarket packs- fit and quality? What company did you buy
from?
