[Kenwood] Replacement batteries-Quality?

Hello:
       I have a Kenwood TH-79A and am in need of some new batteries for it.  The real McCoy PB-32 packs have a big price and are discontinued from Kenwood, some are still available but they must have been sitting on the shelf.  Don't think it is good to buy an old Nicd pack that has been sitting around.  There are several after-market clone packs and the price is all over the place, some are Nicd and some Nimh. Have you had any good experience with aftermarket packs- fit and quality? What company did you buy from?
