Hi;
Need some help with a Kenwood TS-440S (without the tuner) which may have taken
a slight spike during the T-storm Tuesday in this area.
All equipment (TS-790,TS440,TM-V7 and computers) was down and antennas
grounded,but I think the spike came in over the Broadband connection from the
street because the Cable-Modem burnt out (the router was disconnected) and my
speaker audio transformer burnt out.
I replaced the cable-Modem and transformer,so their ok now and the main
computer is back up. But the 440 audio was connected into the computer via the
Audio inputs. I stripped the 440 casing and found no burnt marks,fuses
ok,lights up showing all "A" or "8"'s on the dial window
but no sound,the main spinner knob doesn't respond nor do any buttons,so I
reset the prosessor,but that did nothing. I'm looking for more
ideas what to check or maybe send it out for further work. Thanks for reading
this.
