[Kenwood] Packet and the TM-V7A

Hello,

I want to operate packet radio using my TM-V7A.  I have purchased the appropriate cable from Packet Radio.com and seem to be able to receive packets but cannot seem to key the transmitter.

Does anyone on the list know what I might need to do to get the transmit side working?  I am totally blind so explicit instructions or information would be very helpful.  I would certainly appreciate any assistance you might lend me.
