[Kenwood] RE: best all round rig

I think I misunderstood the question. I thought you were posting to the 
remote-base group, and my answer of TS480S was based on that. As far as 
a good all around rig for home use, I would not recommend TS850S. Mine 
was great for 10 years, then started developing problems that were hard 
to fix due to the design and layout.

I still like Kenwood, but if I were buying a current model main rig for 
use that includes DXing, it would be an IC756PROIII. For older rigs, an 
earlier '756 or a TS950S would be a good choice. I assume from the list 
of reflectors you posted to that you are not considering TenTec, which 
makes some very nice performing rigs.
