[Kenwood] TS940 Power Supply Problem

I was using my 940 in receive mode and all of a sudden it lost
all power.  The radio had been on for about 4 hours and as I recall
I didn't hear the fan in the power supply running.  I could usually 
hear it because it is getting pretty noisy.  I checked the fuse on the 
rear and the fuse on the AVR board both good.  There was 28 volts
to ground on each side of the fuse on the AVR board.

I discussed this with a friend and I mentioned the transistors on the
left rear of the radio behind the fan.  I think he agrees that would be
a good place to start also.  To expedite things, has anyone seen this
problem.  Also, are the transistors available on the open market are 
do I need to order them from PC Parts.

Any experience and help is greatly appreciated.

PS.  The schematics I have are so small that these 68 year old 
eyes have a hard time making anything out under a magnifier.
