[Kenwood] TS-440s audio output problem

Hello Gents,

Has anyone experienced an audio output problem with a
ts-440 where the audio sounds like the speaker is
going bad, i.e., wanting to howl? Or another
description would be "microphonic" as to what old mic
input tubes used to do. It's not the speaker, it does
the same with known good headphones.
I'm suspecting the audio output chip/transistor/stage
but before I dig into it, I would appreciate anyone
elses experience.
I considered the filter going bad but switching to the
more narrow one, doesn't change the problem and I
don't think both filters could be bad simultaneously.

Any ideas?
