[Kenwood] TS-430, slow turn-on on lower frequencies?

Thanks Eddie,

Though time will tell, that appears to have fixed it.  All the bands (even 
LF) seems to work as they should now, right from Power-On.  Since all the 
radio gear runs on a "float charged" battery system it was a piece of cake 
to connect a small  60mA lamp (actually two 35mA lamps in parallel) between 
the high side of the battery bank and the antenna connection.

After you mentioned it, I remember reading that service note quite awhile 
ago when I had my last TS-430 (which didn't have the problem).

May be the infamous band filter relays. Take a 12 volt, 60 ma or so
lamp and feed one side with 12 volts, the other side to the SO239
center. Use the "1 MHZ Step" and cycle the "Band" through its ranges
several times. This "cleans" the relays. Good hunting!
