[Kenwood] network command system questions

Hello to all, wondering if anyone might be using Kenwood's system of remote
control for the TS480 and how does it work for you?  I am thinking of
controlling a remote station about 142 miles away.  There is a slight
(probably fatal) wrinkle with this plan.  At one side, I have access to DSL
and all the bandwidth needed.  At the remote end, there is dialup and that
is all at this time.  ISDN might be available, need to check.  There are
many mountain ranges between the two locations, so a direct shot via the
microwave seems to be out of the question.  Anyway, would like to hear your
comments and just curious, is there much of a turnaround time (delay) when
going from transmit to receive.  Thanks so much, Dave, NC6P.
