[Kenwood] ts2000 vs the older gear

Hi
  After playing around with various early vhf/uhf gear...ft736r,726, 
ft221r various icoms 271, 275 etc. I have got a lot of interest in the 
kenwood ts-2000. I have looked at the spec sheets,gives you some idea 
of performance, but......... Would like to get some real world results 
 from people who use the ts-2000, day to day in the vhf/uhf area. Mostly 
do ssb on 6,2 and 440,some tv and once in a while a sat or two. Have a 
separate rig for fm and repeaters,may use the 2000 on fm simplex. Any 
personal thoughts on the rig,would be grateful to hear them.
