Hi,

I am trying to program my V7A with the PG-4S cable and the MCMv7 software I downloaded from Kenwood. The PG-4s cable datasheet says to purchase a 25 to 9 pin connector that does not contain a null modem from a local elx house. Bought a few with no luch so I have made one..?

I have had a series of problems most of which I have overcome, but currently get a time out error when I try to read and write to the radio with the program.

Can anyone pin out a working 9-25 connector of a(laptop DB9 serial port to 25 pin PG-4s to 6 pin radio connector) from a working programing system and let me know if there is any flow control jumpering needed ofr if I have a mistake in my assumption of what was implied on the data sheet statement?

I made a straight thru connector but get the time out error even thou it appears the PG-4s or radio is looping back the CTS to RTS.

My cable does this

9 pin 25 pin Function
3 2 TX
2 3 RX
7 4 RTS
8 5 CTS
6 6 DSR
4 20 DTR
1 8 DCD
9 22 RI
5 7 SG

Let me know what I need to change,

de Phil
