[Kenwood] INFO NEEDED

Hi Ray ....  I'm also Ray WA7ITZ.     I also have a ts-520 and an 
sb-200.   There should be no problems hooking
the two together, using the interconnection diagram that is in the sb 
200 manual.  The 520 keying circuit will handle the
keying of the 200 just fine.  Both rigs are of the same era.  You won't 
have any worries about the keying circuit that you would have trying to 
key the 200 with a newer solid state rig.   Just use the 200 manual and 
the 520 manual instructions and connect
from the 520 keying connection (which is two pins on the octal socket on 
the back) to the keying plug on the back of the 200 (which is a phono 
plug).  Also run the ALC line, if you want.  I am not using the ALC line 
on mine and as long as you tune
to specs you wont have any overdriving problems.  In fact, load a little 
less than full and you'll be fine.

I am also using another TS-520 to drive a Collins 30L-1, which is 
similar in power ratings to the sb-200 (it just uses four 811A tubes 
instead of the two 572B tubes that the sb 200 uses)   I use direct 
connection for those two units as well and have never had any problems 
at all...
