[Kenwood] TM241A Extended Receive Question

I have no idea of what buttons you may have pressed or in what
order. Though, as I recall, that radio (I had three) enjoyed a few
undocumented features.
I assume you (or a previous owner) have performed a modification to extend
the frequency range. With this in mind, you may be looking at a hard reset
to restore the wide-band capability.
If this doesn't solve the problem, you might look closely at the band
diodes in the event one failed or is the victim of a cold-solder joint.
