I just purchased a 480SAT. I'm really having a hard time getting the audio
to go the transmitter. I hope any of you guys that operate digi modes with
a 480SAT can help out.
Basically, when both 1/8 " jacks are plugged into the computer (spkr & mic),
the DATA plug is plugged into the DATA port, the mixw 2.14 software is
running, all the menus on the 480 are set (60, 46 & 47), vox is on, serial
cable is plugged into the com port on the computer & the serial port on the
480 which keys the rig, the waterfall on the screen is black. I unplug the
"mic" connector from the computer and the waterfall appears. I've done just
about everything from checking wiring, software settings, settings on the
480 and even holding my mouth right. There is no audio getting to the 480,
however the rig keys. I even used a different cable to plug from the
headphone jack to the "mic" jack on the computer. I got a waterfall but
still no audio to the rig. I put the scope to the computer's soundcard
output (spkr) and verified there is definitely a signal present.
This same computer was used with a RASCAL interface and a TS830S
successfully before I bought the TS480SAT a week ago. Kenwood service
center doesn't have a clue. They suggested I ask you guys. Any Ideas???
