I recommend the USB to RS-232 adapters from Farallon, the US distributor for
the SCS PTCpro xx modems. Their website is http://www.farallon.us/webstore/
I use their adapters and have had no problems thus far. They are a little
more expense but they do work. If you call ask for Jack. He is very knowable
about this stuff.

I use a Gateway Notebook computer along with the SIIG-1 USB to One Serial
Port Adapter for $39.95 (USD) to a SCS PTCpro II for mobile/portable
operation (email with attachments); and it works great for HF WL2K to a
PMBO.

Subject: [Kenwood] TS-570 and new computer

Hello All,

My new computer has no serial port so I'll have to use a USB to serial
device to control my 570.

I'm told some work better than others and would appreciate hearing any
recommendations and success stories.

Thanks and 73,

Bert W1DFU
