[Kenwood] TS-830S Query

The DISASSEMBLY on page 29 shows it as the Final Choke (L33-0635-05) with no
further details. It has the designator as L2 in the parts list. It has been
discontinued by Kenwood. East Coast Transistor still lists it but has none
in stock and will not get more.

I would think the Final Plate Choke for ANY transceiver running a pair of
6146 final tubes from 160M through 10 Meters would work in this application
but it must be considered that the TS830S has the inclusion of the WARC
bands and whatever choke is used must not have a resonance on any of the 9
HF bands. Possibly the choke for the TS530, if a different part number,
would be a good substitute. Final Plate Chokes for the TS-820 or TS-520
series transceivers may also work but these rigs did not include the WARC
bands and should be grid-dipped for resonance's in the WARC bands prior to
installing one of these as a replacement and assuming it will work.

The original question of the value of Part # L33-0635-05 remains unanswered.
This is the choke that connects to the parasitic suppressor chokes and plate
caps of the 6146 tubes. It is clearly shown on pg. 29 of the service manual
in the "disassembly view".
