That sounds like the message I would get with my TH-G71A if I didn't have
the unit set to communicate with the PC.  It looks like for your unit, it is
menu selection 9 (SP/MIC Jack).  It needs to be set to "PC".

Hopefully that will take care of it for you.

I have continuous problems with my TH-F6A communicating with my PC. I am
using the PG-4P cable with a null 9 pin adapter.

I am using Com port 2 with the following settings ..... 9600, 8, N, 1. and
Xon / Xoff.

On rare occasions the radio will talk to the PC but usually I get a
Communications timeout error.  Any ideas?
