[Kenwood] Re: [TS-850_450_690] Nice surprise this weekend

    Hi John,  I just sold my TS-690S about 6 weeks ago.  I bought it new 
and liked it quite well.  I had added both 2.1 IF filters from INRAD and 
the 2.1 filters didn't seem to make a lot of difference from the 2.4 
filters.  If you are going to use the radio for contesting in SSB I 
would suggest using the 1.8 IF filters from INRAD.  I only used the 
radio for rag chewing.  Something I have added and now use all the time 
is a Clearspeech speaker.  I have two of the old ones before Heil bought 
them out and improved them and then raised the price.  I have found 
stations that I just can't copy until I turn on the Clearspeech.  I am 
sure there are other good audio DSP units but I have not used them.  If 
you can barrow one to test I think you will buy one.  Welcome to the
