Hi all,

Well, the 520s I have is awesome. Just a lot of fun to use. I am still
playing around with transmitter tuning, but the rig is forgiving (lucky
for me hi hi) Anyways, I recently learned of the greatness of the 830s.
I would like to get the whole kit and caboodle station, however, wow,
have ya seen what they have sold for in the past. Over 1000 dollars. I
really like the tube rigs but that is a lot. The stations I saw on the
Internet were all being sold back in 2001 and earlier. Have yet to see
full stations ((ie speaker, vfo, sm-220 scope(perhaps the most elusive
part), and tuner)) recently. What is a fair market price for a station
these days? I guess I could piecemeal a station together over time. I
really am impressed by what I have read about these rigs. Also, a
question about the 520s. As Field Day approaches, I want to put an 80
meter dipole up. Will the pi-network tune that all the way to 20m or
will I need a tuner?

Thanks
